Senior Capstone Project
What happens when education no longer helps students discover who they are, but predicts who they should become?
Overview
CORE is an interactive speculative education system that predicts and assigns a student’s future pathway through biometric, behavioral, and institutional data.
Created as my senior capstone, the project critiques a future where education shifts from helping students discover who they are to optimizing who they should become.
Context
CORE imagines a future where uncertainty is treated as a design problem.
Instead of switching majors, studying subjects that feel disconnected, or moving from job to job without a clear direction, CORE assigns each student an optimized pathway based on biometric data, astrological data, ancestral records, behavioral modeling, and institutional prediction.
The system promises clarity and efficiency, but raises a larger question: what do we lose when our futures are decided for us?
Challenge
The challenge was to design a speculative system that felt useful, believable, and polished enough to be tempting.
CORE needed to feel like something people might actually accept: a pathway system that removes uncertainty, provides direction, and turns identity into data.
